Mr Mark George is a consultant general and colorectal surgeon, and he specialises in advanced and recurrent colorectal cancer.

He regularly treats patients with conditions such as:

  • pilonidal sinuses

  • advanced and recurrent colorectal cancer

He performs treatments such as:

  • colorectal resection
  • colonoscopy
  • general surgical procedures


Biography

Mr Mark George was appointed as a consultant colorectal surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals in 2003. He qualified from St Mary’s Hospital in 1991 before receiving his postgraduate, higher surgical training in the south east London region. He complete his research at the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research and was award his MS in surgery in 2002.


Research

He is interested in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and is a specialist in the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer and is the regional anal cancer surgeon.

His other surgical expertise includes pilonidal sinus surgery, haemorrhoids, fistula and fissure surgery and treatment. He also is experienced in general surgery, including appendectomy, inguinal, umbilical, sports and abdominal hernia repairs.
