Dr Manju Chandiramani specialises in preparing for pregnancy and pre-conception care, as well as diabetes in pregnancy.
She regularly treats patients with conditions such as:
- diabetes in pregnancy (gestational diabetes)
- risk of preterm birth
- perinatal mental health
- high-risk obstetrics
- general obstetrics
She performs treatments such as:
- comprehensive maternity care package, including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care
- ultrasound scans of cervical length in pregnancy and fetal fibronectin testing to determine risks of preterm delivery
- insertion of cervical cerclage to prevent pregnancy losses and early birth

Biography
Dr Manju Chandiramani is a consultant obstetrician at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals.
She has a BSc (Hons) from Tufts University in Massachusetts and she qualified from Leicester University in 2002 and completed her training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare Trust – Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, amongst others.
She completed her PhD at King’s College London in 2012.
She has expertise in providing holistic care to women in low and high-risk pregnancies, which is tailored to their individual expectations, and has been a practising obstetrician for over 10 years.
Research
Dr Manju Chandiramani specialises in preparing for pregnancy and pre-conception care, preterm birth prediction and prevention, diabetes in pregnancy, quality improvement, patient safety and experience, perinatal mental health and wellbeing, postnatal wellbeing.
In her NHS practice, Manju has particular expertise in providing specialist care for women at risk of preterm birth, those having had previous pregnancy losses, and those with diabetes.
She holds leadership and management roles in London geared at optimising the preparation of babies at risk of being born too early, giving them the best chance of better beginnings and subsequent healthier lives.
Manju is also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the School of Life Course Sciences at King’s College London.
Her research interests involve the prediction and prevention of preterm birth, ranging from basic science to clinical studies. She has experience in quality improvement and transformation and redesign of clinical care pathways which span different NHS institutions and involve frontline staff.
