Clinical expertise

Dr Anne Wright is currently not taking on new patients.

She specialises in childhood bladder and bowel dysfunction as well as physical and learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders.

She regularly treats patients with conditions such as:

  • childhood bladder bowel dysfunction
  • enuresis/bedwetting
  • overactive bladder/daytime urinary incontinence
  • dysfunctional voiding
  • giggle incontinence
  • constipation and soiling
  • toilet postponement
  • neurogenic bladders
  • bladder dysfunction in neurodevelopmental disorders

She performs treatments such as:

  • urotherapy
  • non-invasive (uroflowmetry +/- EMG) and invasive urodynamics
  • bladder scan
  • neuromodulation/TENS


Biography

Dr Anne Wright is a lead consultant paediatrician at the children’s bladder clinic at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

She works closely with the nephrourology department and is responsible for paediatric video urodynamic investigation within the service, which also offers uroflowmetry with electromyography (EMG), bladder scans, biofeedback and neuromodulation.

She has worked extensively with NICE, is President of the Education and Resources for Improving Childhood Continence (ERIC) charity and is the Education chairperson for the International Children’s Continence Society (ICCS).


Research

Dr Wright is an expert in childhood bladder and bowel dysfunction, including:

  • bedwetting
  • daytime wetting
  • giggle incontinence
  • constipation and soiling
  • neuropathic bladders

She also specialises in physical and learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders (autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD).

Teaching

She also teaches and lectures nationally and internationally, publishing several papers and book chapters.
