Clinical expertise

Dr Anne Gordon is a consultant occupational therapist, specialising in child brain injury and complex neurodevelopmental disorders.

She regularly treats patients with conditions such as:

  • childhood stroke
  • acquired brain injury
  • upper limb motor disorders
  • complex epilepsy
  • movement disorders

She offers the following treatments and examinations to her young patients:

  • assessment and consultation about rehabilitation and support needs after brain injury
  • developmental assessment of children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, stroke
  • assessment of motor function of children with neurodevelopmental disorders
  • consultation about best-evidenced motor rehabilitation approaches for children with arm and hand difficulties


Biography

Dr Anne Gordon is the chief children’s therapist at Evelina London Children’s Hospital and works clinically as a consultant occupational therapist in paediatric neuroscience.

She received her Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy (BAppSc) from the University of South Australia, as well as her Master of Science in Health Psychology (MSc) from the University of Westminster and her PhD in Paediatric Neuroscience from the University of Melbourne.


Research

She undertakes clinical research in paediatric neurodisability, particularly acquired brain injury and stroke. She also runs the child stroke and acquired brain injury recovery clinic, the ECMO outcome clinical, and Evelina REACH rehabilitation service.
