Dr Thomas Smith is a highly skilled and experienced pain specialist with expertise across a full spectrum of chronic pain treatment.

He is passionate about improving the treatment of chronic pain and offering the best and latest treatments available. He is an expert in pain treatment procedures and in spinal cord stimulation.

He is an expert in treating a range of pain related conditions and injuries including:

  • back pain
  • neck pain
  • nerve related pain including chronic pain
  • headaches and migraines
  • facial pain
  • neuropathic pain

He  performs pain management treatments such as:

  • spinal procedures including facet joint denervation
  • nerve root block (steroid injection)
  • Racz Catheter Epidurolysis
  • pulsed radiofrequency for neuropathic pains
  • Botoxin treatments for headache/migraine (occipital nerve blocks)
  • autonomic ganglia blocks
  • surgical implants for neuromodulation (spinal cord stimulation)

He utilises multidisciplinary pain management approaches including the best use of pain medicines, multidisciplinary pain management approaches, pain block procedures, and advanced interventional procedures.



Biography

Dr Thomas Smith qualified from Monash University, Australia and has worked in leading centres around the world during his career, including Australia, Germany, and the USA.

He went on to achieve his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Kiel, Germany and completed a Fellowship and 12 months’ sub-specialty training in pain management at The Royal College of Anaesthetists.

Dr Smith was awarded the United Kingdom Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in anaesthetics.
