Our consultant obstetric anaesthetists specialise in pain relief during labour and are on hand to ensure that your birth is as comfortable as possible. The anaesthetists are available to discuss options for pain relief including epidurals. They also provide anaesthesia for caesarean sections, which are usually performed using spinal or epidural anaesthesia. This service is not included in the hospital fee and will be billed separately by the anaesthetist.
Our consultant neonatologists lead the care for new-born babies on the Westminster Maternity Suite and perform routine new-born examinations. All our neonatologists are highly experienced as they also work on the neonatal unit which is part of the Evelina London Children’s Hospital at St Thomas’. This unit is one of the busiest in the country and specialises in the care of premature babies and babies requiring complex care.
Our neonatologists will complete a full examination of your baby during the first 72 hours of birth to ensure your baby is fit and healthy, providing you with peace of mind.
This service is not included in the hospital fee and will be charged separately by the neonatologist.
Our team of experienced midwives are trained to prepare you for the arrival of your little one. They will support you throughout your pregnancy and you will be invited to attend a midwife –led clinic at around 16 weeks. They will also provide excellent post natal care for you and your baby. We pride ourselves on the individual care our midwives provide during your labour and your stay on the Westminster Maternity Suite.
Administration and finance
To support our obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists and maternity support workers, we also have a dedicated administration and finance team who are available seven days a week in the unit to assist you during your stay with us. They will be on hand to assist with scheduling appointments, making payments or any general enquiries you may have to ensure all aspects of your administration and finance are taken care of smoothly and in a timely manner.
