The Baby Friendly Initiative
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is part of The Baby Friendly Initiative which has revolutionised healthcare for babies, their mothers and families. Launched in the UK in 1994, and part of a wider global partnership between the World Health Organisation and UNICEF, the programme aims to ensure high standards of care for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers and babies.
