Preparing for your stay
We understand that coming into hospital can be an anxious time for you and your family. That’s why everything we do at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Private Healthcare is designed to make your stay as stress-free and as comfortable as possible.
Our private patients receive the highest quality consultant-led care in modern, clean and comfortable facilities. It’s also reassuring to have your procedure or treatment in one of the top teaching hospitals in the country, with the clinical expertise of Guy’s and St Thomas’ at close proximity if required.
Your medical consultant will explain in advance what your procedure involves and if you need to follow any specific instructions. You will be given the opportunity to ask questions. Your admission letter will confirm your admission date and time and will also note any important information about your treatment or procedure.
Here are some items that you may wish to bring with you for your stay:
- lightweight dressing gown
- personal toiletries
- shaving kit
- reading matter.
If you forget something, there are shops on the ground floor of St Thomas’ that are open throughout the week. They stock items such as stationery, food, toiletries and clothing.
If you are taking any medication, please bring your medicines with you on the day of your admission.
We advise that you avoid bringing valuable items with you. The hospital cannot take any responsibility for personal valuables left unattended.
