Specialises in gastroenterology including early upper GI cancer and oesophageal endoscopic therapy.

Biography

Dr Jason Dunn graduated from GKT School of Medical Education at King’s College London in 2000. He was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, London) in 2005 and a Cancer Research UK clinical fellowship at University College London (UCL) in 2007. He received his PhD from University College London in 2011 and was named an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London in 2015.

His work on treatment of Barrett’s oesophagus with radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and the use of biomarkers to predict cancer progression, has won prizes. He is the early diagnosis lead for the London Cancer Alliance (LCA) and has written guidelines for the management of Barrett’s oesophagus for the LCA. He is proficient in endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and radiofrequency ablation techniques.

Jason has presented his work at national and international meetings. He has published on novel endoscopic techniques for treatment of globus secondary to the cervical inlet patch. He started a follow-up randomised trial in 2018.

He holds honorary senior lecturer posts at King’s College London and Oslo University in the Institute of Medical Informatics.

He has an interest in nutrition, specialising in parenteral nutrition in oncology/palliative care and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube insertion.
