Consultant rehabilitation physician

Dr Simon Shaw is a consultant physician in rehabilitation medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He is a specialist in managing disability and recovery from both injury and illness.

Simon is lead clinician at the Bowley Close Regional Specialist Rehabilitation Service for assistive technology (prosthetics, orthotics, specialist seating and assistive communication service) and the lead for the post-polio service through the Lane Fox Respiratory Service at St Thomas’.

Simon has expertise in complex medical treatments within physical medicine covering amputee, prosthetics musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neuro-disability, neuro-rehabilitation covering post-polio syndrome, spasticity and cerebral palsy.

  • Orthotics and complex orthotic management, run jointly with Chris Cody, clinical lead and head of regional orthotic services at Guy’s and St Thomas’
  • Prosthetics (children and adults) for both acquired and congenital limb deficiency and amputations
