Dr Shazia Afridi trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School and attained an intercalated Neuroscience BSc and MBBS(Hons). She was awarded the War Memorial scholarship. Following her medical training in London she completed her PhD at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, looking at functional imaging in migraine. She then went on to complete her higher training in London.
Shazia was appointed as consultant neurologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 2013 and established the headache service in the neurology department. She also sees patients with neurofibromatosis.
She has been on the council for the British Association for Study of Headache and is a trustee for the Migraine Trust. She is also visiting senior lecturer at King’s College and has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers. She is on the scientific committee for the Migraine Trust International Symposium.
